I need to vent and possibly garner some advice from you guys.
So I am a massage therapist at a big name hotel, Hilton, in CA. We are considered “vendors” for the hotel as I work for a company contracted with Hilton, so I'm technically not an employee of the hotel. However, the spa is a permanent part of the building and I work here full-time.
In times past, the spa employees were allowed to enter the employee cafeteria but the new hotel management decided to restrict our access because we don't work for them on a technicality. My direct boss says there is nothing she can do about it, but she doesn't really fight for us. I have a feeling she mentioned it to her boss and rolled over showing her belly as soon as the “president” of the hotel said no.
I will sometimes sneak in if I can but feel like this is something so simple for them to allow us to do. To eat! Come on man. Basic human kindness. Corporate bullshit.
I'm booked up here alot so I'm not excited to try to find something else but, is there anything I can say to my boss that would get her to grow some balls and get us back in the cafeteria? Strike?? Lol
Thanks.
