Accidentally Discovered the CTC of every employee in my company

I'm trying to switch jobs, and one of the companies that I'd applied to wanted salary and other benefits-related information before proceeding with the interviews. So I started digging through the paperwork and policy documents my current company had uploaded on our HR portal. In the personal accidents insurance section, as per policy, everyone is entitled to a coverage of twice their fixed annual ctc. Here's where things get interesting. On the portal, the company had uploaded a list of all employees and how much coverage each was entitled to. (I work in a big company in terms of net worth but total number of employees is less than 150.) Here's where things get interesting. On the portal, the company had uploaded a list of all employees and how much coverage each was entitled to. (I work in a big company in terms of net worth but total number of employees is less than 150.)

Simple maths, and now I know what all my colleagues, including my boss and other c-suite executives are earning. I also now know who all, doing similar work to me are being paid more (or less). Even if my calculation of the exact figures is somehow wrong (like, if there are other factors involved), I'm still able to get a sense of who earns more than others and relatively how much.

What I learned from this is that the senior executives earn a ridiculous amount of money while us junior members in the organisation are severely underpaid. (Why am I not surprised?) I also learned that if the company wanted, they could have given me the raise I asked for last year (since so many people in the company are already earning that, while generating lesser value + they have no qualms giving that money to outside hires).

The industry I work in is very hush hush about the pay scales and there's very little salary-related information out there, so this was kind of enlightening.
