Thanks to this sub I scored a job with a 40%+ increase not including benefits, NONE of which I had before.
I was cold contacted by a recruiter for the company’s competitor looking for a managerial position.
I have managed people in the past but not really. Long time ago and ancient history based on social changes just since Covid.
I’m going to have it online for the first, any suggestions on how to respond about managing people?
I believe management should be able to do everything their assigned team does. I believe that everyone is included or no one. I believe that every birthday is a free day off, that employees get an extra day off for holiday shopping.
I don’t believe that seniority means that they get the best holidays or having kids allows extra time off nor should smokers get an extra break. But I do believe that everyone needs to go on that extra walk about About after that rough call/email/frustration – if you happen to be smoking, well how about that!
I believe that everyone deserves to know the expectations of their employer and employees and by being honest with each other, we can set each other up to succeed.
Is that a bunch of hooey? It’s what the best managers I’ve had done or what I wish the bad ones tried
Any other ideas? I’m totally open to suggestions, I am already so grateful
