Advice from those who left a high-paying job for a lower-paying one that made them happier?

Just looking for some advice from this community of folks who kind of think like me. I'm currently doing Job A, which is about 50-60 hours a week, overnight shift, with Tuesday and Wednesday nights off. I'm a CDL driver who makes about 70k a year and I honestly hate my job. Only good part is the compensation. I used to be on the radio. I recently got offered Job B to get back into that industry. I LOVE radio. Been a passion of mine since a kid, and I've missed it ever since I left right as the COVID pandemic started. However, Job B is on the other side of the state, and offers only 43k in compensation with no benefits. But it's 6a-3p Mon-Fri. My problem is: logistically, it doesn't make sense.

We own our home (which admittedly needs some work) and my family is comfortable in their schools/communities. I'd have to sell this house then rent a place near Job B, then look for a place to buy. And Job B doesn't have a TON of real estate around (very rural) that fit the needs of my family of 4 plus my mom who lives with us and, honestly, deserves her own in-law suite.

I'm struggling here. My “mental health” side says do it. Happier at work with a better schedule means more time with wife and kids and mom, plus better attitude all around. But my “logistical” side says NO YOU IDIOT! We'd get a nice little lump sum for security after selling the house, but most of that would need to be saved for a down-payment on a new house, and rent is almost 2x what my current mortgage is.

I'm just looking for a bit of friendly advice from anyone who has faced this situation before.

Thanks to all, and let's remember to EatTheRich!
