Advice needed regarding reluctance to give last salary by the employer in an internship in India

I need some advice. I live in Delhi, India. My internship with a startup had completed on 31st of last month according to the offer letter. I went to the office for several days, as the owner had promised that he would give me an offer to continue. On the 8th day, no offer had come and I had some medical issue, so I told that I won't be able to continue there, and in the evening, sent an email saying that I want to conclude the association with the company.

The salary of last month still has not been credited, so when I asked for the salary, the owner accused me of unprofessional behavior and said that he would call me to the office next week to do some 'exit formalities', and after that would credit the salary to my account.

Now, if he does call me to the office, I don't want to go, partly because of my medical condition, and partly because I think that he wants to peddle lies and verbally abuse me there without any written record. I have witnessed this during my internship, the owner was giving violent threats to someone on the phone, saying 'tereko vahi aake marunga'(translation: I will come there and beat you up), so I am a bit concerned about my safety.

So what should I do, to get my salary? Is it true that 'exit formalities' need to done before crediting salary if a person is leaving?
