The last company I worked for – 8 years – always denied raises. Various reasons, even though my performance reviews were always 4 or 5's. I quit after my supervisor suggested I cancel my health insurance to save money.
This new company is totally opposite. Annual COL raises, annual salary increase, generous PTO, guaranteed WFH (for me), and the pay is 2.5 times what I was previously paid. I negotiated a $10k salary increase 6 months into my new job, and they agreed with no problems. This next review will be in addition to my increase last year.
I'm meeting with my supervisor today to discuss annual compensation review. I don't know how to act like I am grateful for anything, no matter how small. I am grateful, don't get me wrong, I love my job. But i don't want them thinking I am ok with no increase, or even a low increase.
(low self esteem sucks!)
