Here is the background info:

I work in a nursing home long term care in Canada for reference.

I receive an email from HR stating that April 27th, I will be having a meeting with her HR management and my boss, and my union rep regarding my attendance management. I reply in an email that I will be there but would like to know what “attendance management” involves?

They reply stating they will be reviewing my attendance from 2021 to now.

I am always on time for work within 5 minutes. We have a 5 minute rule with punches.

I have been sick several times in 2021 due to straining my ankle twice in the first half of 2021 (2 weeks off total)

I also was sick following all 3 doses of the vaccine, which is normal. After the 1st dose, I came to work extremely ill and asked my boss if I could leave because I was so unwell I could barely move and think straight. I was told to suck it up.

The next 2 doses I was sick for 2-3 days off work.

I've had flus and colds throughout the pandemic and we aren't allowed to come to work if we have any symptoms. I went for many covid tests whe I was sick and paid for doctors notes every absence of 3 days or more.

In January I was extremely sick due to the 3rd dose, and burnt out from working 5 days a week 12 hour shifts. This was when my care site had an outbreak. We were so short staffed and I was sick for almost 3 weeks. Again, I had doctors notes dated for this.

Since January, I've had maybe 2 days off sick due to colds/symptoms.

All my absences are covered by the sick time I've earned. I do not fake being sick when I am not ill. I am 26 years old and have some health issues with my heart and other mental health issues. I am on a wait list to be assessed for ADHD and autism. I believe I am high functioning but do struggle with depression related to the extreme burnout I've felt throughout the pandemic. Coming to work has not been easy the last year and yet I still show up for work and do my best to support my clients.

Another layer is that I had requested in January for an education LOA from Sept-December. They have known for 2 years that I need this LOA to go on an unpaid internship at a different care home to finish my degree (I have been in full time school finishing my bachelors degree during the pandemic). I have q full time line in which I've been employed for 5 years. I have won awards at work for my outstanding achievement. We have 1 casual staff in my department and due to this they have yet to grant my request of leave of absence. I have told both my manager and HR manager that if my request is not granted I will be forced to resign, and under the collective agreement I should be covered for my educational leave request. My union and I have grieved their denial to grant my educational LOA. So far it is now April and my employer has posted a temp full time line of my leave in an attempt to hire a causal to cover my LOA.

I have a feeling they will not hire a casual and will deny my leave right before I need to leave, forcing me to resign, lose my benefits, seniority, and my line.

I went back to school to learn and be better at my job so I can better serve my clients and my employer is making it damn near impossible to keep my job that I love very much.

I have a feeling they are just starting to harass me to stress me out to force me to resign. Or build a case of why they won't grant my educational leave.

HELP me please. What can I do to prepare?
