Meanwhile Canada still has it’s hidden corporate/systemic issues too..

Then we come to the decision makers all aghast saying things like “Why is work ethic so bad?”, “No one wants to work!”, “Why is mental health such an issue?” while being treated like a slave for another's sense of entitlement and prosperity. Since both want their hands in the cookie jar and won't listen to facts or what might be best for society as that might affect potential profits/savings (when it actually costs significantly more in the long-term, as we have learned on this subreddit and through studies). Then we come to the decision makers all aghast saying things like “Why is work ethic so bad?”, “No one wants to work!”, “Why is mental health such an issue?” while being treated like a slave for another's sense of entitlement and prosperity. Yet they have no problem doing any of that, themselves. We aren't supposed to notice that. I worked here briefly and could see what this reviewer stated almost right away. I really don't know how anyone could put up with the amount of internal nonsense for as long as they have and aren't just dropping off the deep-end and harming themselves or others. To imagine that this is still happening and having an Association that is apathetic to member's needs is really saddening and frustrating, with how it happens more often than people would like to believe. A lot of this stuff mentioned is unethical, if not illegal.. but if the system is just accepted even if broken, it'll just continue, as they appear to be content with since they get what they want anyhow. It gets really tiring how frequently it is all about whom you know, which politician, board and/or company you fed resources to, not what you know and how hard you work. You are just a number and if you start standing up for yourselves and what might be right, you are “dealt” with as quietly and efficiently as possible.

That is the darker side of Canada (especially in places with lower-populations with more classic views) that many of the public does not notice on the surface. Where people in power have all their “buddies” appointed to boards and commissions to oversee the too many levels and divisions of bureaucracy and barriers protecting the people/companies who would otherwise be held accountable. Along with having scapegoat middle-management appointed in positions under them to protect them, to take the fall if things take a turn. Most who take these management positions are just naive and will do what they are told since they are often assessed and groomed beforehand and enjoy getting that feeling of superiority over others. There is almost always a person that represents the government's interests on every decision-making entity of importance and can conveniently make things go away and have it supported by the courts since it appears independent. Much of the budgets, tax breaks and whatnot go to specific targeted companies (as favours from the government) who really don't need them and should be paying more. The only exception is if it becomes a huge matter that takes really riles the public and news interests, which isn't as common as it should be in recent years. Most laws and regulations look good on paper, but in some of these kinds of cases it just happens as directed, instead of what might be right for the individual or public-good at the time.
