Been working a minimum wage part time job at an ice cream place for the past four months and today I experienced some very off putting behavior from my boss.
I’ve barely seen her since I first was hired as she only works mornings and my schedule has me working closing. Today was my first full shift working with her and she was being very rude to me. For context I just moved places and had been working 8 hour shifts nonstop for the past 4 days, so when I showed up late from missing the bus she was incessant about where I was and how my week had been.
I told her bluntly that my week was exhausting and that I haven’t been able to sleep well for a while. She said that she understood and that I could talk to her “about these things.”
10 minutes later she called me fat under her breath.
Later she told me that she was trying to make me smile and that I should “smile more” And was being generally dismissive about me trying to discuss my difficulties with the job.
After today (and multiple other factors that make working there gruesome) I have decided to abandoned my original plan of working at that place over the summer in hopes I get a better position elsewhere.
How should I go about securing a new job and quitting my current one?
Tldr; I WANT TO QUIT I HATE THIS PLACE GOD HELP ME!
