For the past three years, I've worked in a smelter. During that time, my company has had incredibly high turnover. Two years ago they started doing exit interviews with hourly employees, instead of just salary. Everyone gave the sand reasons: the pay isn't high enough, and the supervisors are terrible. Upper management didn't change anything for two years.
Finally, over the past month, the owner cleared out the C-suite and fired 20 supervisors. Then, this week, they announced plantwide raises to bring us in line with other companies nearby. This honestly feels like such a win after years of begging for money.
