Hey guys, I have a question. So I’ve been working at this logistics warehouse for about 8 months now as a temp, and been working so hard so I can get hired by the company. I was supposed to get hired on the 6 month mark. Now side note, I’m also Hispanic and my English isn’t perfect, but I make due and have no issues speaking with truck drivers, but for my supervisor it’s somewhat of an issue.
But now to the real question. I found out that my now best friend, who’s been working for 7 months now temp, is getting hired by the company. I’m so happy for her, but what about me ?
So I asked him earlier today if I’ll be getting hired on.
His answer was “no, you’re too young. You just got married and will be having kids soon. Will consider it next year, though.”
I was really in disbelief when I heard all that. I know it’s illegal to discriminate someone based on their age.
Is there any action I can take ?
Or should I leave it alone ?
