I work in a shared meal preparation place where a number of different companies do catering and meal prep like Hello Fresh. There is this woman (60-ish) that works with a different company than I do in the same building. We are not co-workers, just work in the same building.
It started with her making comments that I'm always hogging the place she wants to work in. She'll barge into my work area to do whatever she needs to do while it's obvious I'm there already and have plenty to do. Making comments about the state of the area I'm in and that she took over.
This grew to her slamming things around while she is working near me, and her making a mess then showing another worker and blaming it on me.
Lately, this woman has gotten physical. When we pass each other she has jabbed me in the side with whatever she has in her hand. Or coming up behind me and whacking my lower back with a baking tray. This has happen about 6 times now. …once, twice, could be an accident. Half a dozen times? That's more than being clumsy.
She does this when no one else is around to see it. When others are around she is really brown nosey to them. The stupid comments and her slamming stuff around I can ignore. If she's jabbing me with kitchen equipment, I'm wondering what the next level is.
If I bring it up with my manager I'm probably going to hear “Work it out between yourselves” which won't get anywhere. It'll be strange to bring this up with them anyway because it's an older lady behaving like this and being sneaky enough so no one else sees it.
