All the disadvantages of A Patient Transporter

I work in a hospital, as you guessed it, a patient transporter. It sucks. It's really bad. People keep quitting, and there's never enough people to keep the constant transporting to a steady pace. The scheduling isn't good either. Mornings and Afternoon, even some late night shifts. People keep calling in because they feel like they can never get a decent break. Management gets on people's asses for the smallest things, and we don't get any 15-minute breaks for our 8-hour shift, just the one 30-minute lunch. Nurses take their time to sign proper paperwork to transport patients, and that hindures our ability to get them where they need to go and then they bitch at us when we're taking forever on our moves. We almosr get no respect even if we trying our hardest. When we have what little free time we have, our managers and leads “jokingly” express…

We have way too many responsibilities for only being a patient transporter.

To top it off we get paid $10 an hour. I'm going to be quitting soon for a $17 an hour position somewhere else. Good riddance.
