Am I being micromanaged?

I work as a Personal Trainer at a small gym. I’m new to the field; not much experience, but plenty of education on the matter. Recently, I’ve been feeling like my bosses (husband and wife duo) don’t trust me to do my job correctly. Examples: Took two of my clients away (essentially took away a week of work from me) without prior notice to do personal training with them theirselves. They have cameras with microphones in the gym (I’m ok with a camera because who wouldn’t want it in there for security reasons). I know they are watching me when it’s my shift to teach a group class or a client because they will text me while I am working my shift. One text happened recently. I work as a Personal Trainer at a small gym. I’m new to the field; not much experience, but plenty of education on the matter.

Recently, I’ve been feeling like my bosses (husband and wife duo) don’t trust me to do my job correctly.

Examples:

Took two of my clients away (essentially took away a week of work from me) without prior notice to do personal training with them theirselves.

They have cameras with microphones in the gym (I’m ok with a camera because who wouldn’t want it in there for security reasons). I know they are watching me when it’s my shift to teach a group class or a client because they will text me while I am working my shift.

One text happened recently. Had a new client come in for a group class. I tell the other participants to warm up on the cardio machines for 5 min while I get the new client to sign forms. I then tell her to warm up via jumping jacks, squats, and sit ups instead because the warm up period was almost done. Client tells me she feels pain when she squats; I tell her to squat so I can help correct form. Once I instruct her what to change to make the squat more functional, I watch again to make sure she got it down. This is all in the span of 3 minutes.

I get a text right then and there from my bosses saying why am I ignoring the other clients and giving this one a personal sessions. I don’t argue; I tell them my logic that I detailed above. They tell me that equates to a free assessment and personal training feature that she isn’t supposed to have at all during a group class. I drop that matter for now because I was in the middle of a session; I can’t just be in a back and forth with my bosses over the phone while I’m working.

In short, I feel as if they don’t trust I am competent enough or believe I can handle/ make decisions on training clients on my own. They also offer to have me shadow them train a few training sessions after a year working with them.

Let me know if what I’m thinking isn’t to far off or what y’all think of this.
