Was in interview waiting room for 10 minutes. Emailed recruiter. Said that I am leaving the waiting room now and to please let me know when we can reschedule.
They write back and say they're in a meeting that ran late and will call me directly ASAP. I say great, I'll wait for the call.
1 minutes before the scheduled end time, I am on their scheduler rescheduling the interview for another time on their calendar that is open for another day completely.
At the same time, they call me. I let it go to VM bc I've already been sitting for 30 minutes waiting, and now I have to talk for 30 minutes…? I had 7 interviews last week and 6 this week, I'm tired.
They emailed me that a VM was left (I never listened to it), and I said that I just got it as I was rescheduling us since I have another call soon. No response.
I understand meetings run late and sometimes they're situations where you truly *cannot* get out of it, and I would have 50% taken the call past the scheduled time vs. 0% if I had just been told that they were running late or needed to reschedule before I waited 10 minutes and had to ask.
Basically: are my actions…valid? or spiteful and only hurting myself…? I am trying to gain respect that I didn't have at my last job (boss used my identity/credentials and pretended to be me, long story)
