Amazon warehouse

I was reflecting on my time as a picker, and came to a theory. Amazon warehouses are built to a spec where it takes you 15 minutes to get to a restroom or break area. I think someone plotted the layout of distance with intent. I'm 6'1″ and have a decent stride. It would still take me about 12 minutes in any direction to get to a bathroom. On the days I would pick at an extreme pace it felt I would be rewarded by being sent to a section of the warehouse near a break room that only took a couple minutes to get to. The worst part of the job was knowing that the guys with engineering degrees got payed insane money to act like a correctional officer. That was the entire job of management at the warehouse. Stand around, bs, and get fatty payed until it came…

On the days I would pick at an extreme pace it felt I would be rewarded by being sent to a section of the warehouse near a break room that only took a couple minutes to get to.

Stand around, bs, and get fatty payed until it came time to harass us for not picking up the pace. Then, it was right back to yucking it up about what they had going on in their personal life.
