Amended offer letter after 10 months of employment

I've been working at a company for the past 10 months, when I signed my offer letter I was hired as an associate. Turns out that people hired a few years before me were hired as analysts and were the ones actually onboarding me for the position. Obviously during our peer performance evaluations, they found out that we had a higher title than them and now HR is trying to amend my contract to say that they made an administrative error and want to change my title to analyst which is literally a demotion. What do we think? (End of year bonus and pay caps are also based off our job titles)
