I know the topic of rent has come up many times in this group and I need your help I just bought my first home. Nothing fancy but for a single guy, more than enough. I am planning on offering the 2 spare bedrooms up for rent. They will share a bathroom. Question is, how should I go about doing rent? Option 1: A flat rate based on expected expenses (utilities, mortgage, etc). Option 2: A variable monthly rate where bills are split 3 ways. The downside to this is the unknown amount owed.
