Antiwork shower thoughts – Google employee vent

I work at Google and my role and company could be way worse but being a contractor I feel my experience has not been as healthy any FTE. I applied, interviewed and was hired for a recruiting role which would consist of helping candidates through their interviews and extend/ close their offer if they receive one. I have been a sourcing recruiter for over 8 years and have been trying to get to this next step turning down several well paying FTE sourcing roles at top companies to get this recruiting experience at google, even though it was contract. When I joined 98% of the people on my team were not historically even recruiters let alone know anything about tech, which was very bizarre to me but whatever I was there or the closing experience not to make friends. (I was making like 40K more than any other contractor on my team per my experience)
Not even 3 months into my contract, business needs change and then the recruiters on my team were asked to support the client side of recruiting (what I have been working so hard to move into) and I was asked to go back to sourcing. So after 8 years of very very strong recruiting experience I was demoted (pretty much) back to sourcing and all those other recruiters with 0 technical or recruiting experience to go into the client side. Knowing this, I would have told the Recruiter to shove this contract up his ass but now I am stuck. Now 3 months into a contract I have to either find new employment and have a sus 3 month engagement on my record or just bend over and let google decide the fate of my career. The whole 8 years I have been busting my ass is now in the hands of some fucking prick in HR doesnt even fucking know me.

Now I am on a team that wont even let me source, I am given lists of candidates to look into and reach out to and 99% of these leads are trash. I reach out to my Lead to ask if I can start with the list given to me that is better quality… Instead of trying to understand or care the response is – “Get all the lists done”. So after staring at my screen for over 8 hours a day to get caught up on my offers so I can focus on sourcing, the last week or so… Now I will be spending 80% of my time focusing on building my resume to get out of this shit hole contract. I' would rather work for some startup that actually kinda cares for the time being until they go IPO.

TLTR: Google asks me to waste my time so I start working my on resume instead.

So my shower thought is that if you wanna micromanage me to do shit that isn't even a good use of my time, I will redirect my focus on updating my resume.

EDIT: Anyone who says anything about conversions – google got rid of them. If you're working a contract for 2 years, you are the same as any other external candidate. They can't even pretend like they give a shit about people. I have 0 intentions to apply to any FTE reqs, not worth the time.
