Any business that cannot afford to pay a livable wage does NOT deserve to exist. A business that cannot pay a livable wage is straight up SLAVERY.

Change my mind. I dare you. There is no logical rational for a business to exist that cannot pay its employees a livable wage. If the business will not pay a livable wage, the government should levy a business tax to subsidize what businesses will not do.

This should be the antiwork mantra.

A livable wage must cover the following:

  1. The median rent in 250 mile vicinity of the business if it is an urban center or a 1000 mile radius if it is a rural area.

  2. The ability to afford healthy food. Let's say $300 a month.

  3. Transportation money to YOUR BUSINESS.

  4. Health insurance

  5. Amenities

  6. And at least 25% of your total net income go to savings.

I just pulled that range out of my ass. I think there is a better definition for livable wage. But regardless, that is how it should be.

If you can can persuade me that I am wrong, I will donate $250 to a charity of your choice as long as it is an animal/Union/Ukraine support charity.

Anything short of a livable wage should be considered straight up slavery.
