I feel like we all got screwed with Christmas being on a Sunday. Everyone I know is working basically all the way up to Christmas Eve. It doesn’t feel like the holidays as much just because work has been a headache up to this point.
I’m a teacher, and I work in a district that’s over an hour from my house (only district that pays living wage for the area). Wife and I just had a baby two months ago, I would have really liked to have spent more time with him this holiday season, but because of work I really wasn’t able to. Can’t take sick days because I had to use them all for my paternity leave and now I’m out.
Most of the students aren’t even here, grade window has closed, I feel like a babysitter at this point.
Kind of puts me in a shitty mood and turns me off to this holiday season. Anyone else feeling this way?
