I work roughly four different job areas at my job. It was three but someone left for another job and they pushed his work on me. (With no extra pay.) He was getting a paycheck for his one job function. Now they pushed it to me with no mention of increased pay.
Last month, I told my manager that I didn't have enough to pay for gas after paying all my bills. I asked him if I could get a raise because of my extra job function. He spoke to the other managers and CEO of the company. Came back and gave me a two hundred dollar gift card for Walmart. Said to use it for gas only.
I told him thanks but I was looking for extra pay due to my increased workload and or responsibility's. I informed him that I was already working three job functions and now am working four due to the last employee leaving. He was getting paid more than me. I make 16.75 and he was making 18 for one job task. Since they are not paying him his wage any longer and I have effectively taken over his job duties, could they at least pay me his wage of 18? This seems to be a no go.
Paying someone 16.75 and someone else 18 was perfectly fine but since that person left, giving the guy who takes over his duties a pay increase to 18 is absurd. 18+16.75=34.75 <--Completely fine. Giving me a two dollar raise? Got stared at like I was crazing. I don't understand what is wrong with companies or the people who run them.
Anyways, I work with computers. Hardware, software. Can lend out my resume if needed. I take pride in my work and have been working for shit pay most of my life. I have been able to sustain my family but now its becoming to difficult and my already stretched dollars are beginning to tear.
Anyways, just putting this out their and yes, I am machine gunning applications out on indeed.
