Apparently an emergency doesn’t count if I’m not sick.

I work a WONDERFUL/s retail job that is full of toxic managers and is just a toxic company in general. My mother is being hospitalized and my sister has to be with her. That means I had to watch my nephew who is 6 years old. I called out today, explaining that i have an emergency and have to watch him. Later on, the ACM (assistant club manager) calls me and says that I am hurting the business and she will not be excusing the call out. I literally just said “okay, sorry” and hung up. I understand it’s a huge inconvenience to not have employees however my situation still STANDS and I would love to not be dealing with all this right now and just work. I guess I have to look for a new job now.
