Are menu tests before an offer of employment normal?

so i’m 18 years old and i live in California. I have been applying to every job that I’m qualified for since I turned 15. I had a total 4 interviews in that 3 years. My most recent one was at Jimmy Johns a few days ago. It didn’t go as well as I had hoped. At the end of the interview, they asked me to come back for a menu test. I had never heard of that before. She gave me a study guide that was at the back of the stack of papers on her clipboard and I’m supposed to go back tomorrow. I’m just confused because there was no offer of employment and I don’t want to study and learn this menu, just to not even get the job. I already have most of it down ngl. But I don’t want to keep stressing about it if…

I also feel disrespected and I sympathize with other people who are spending unpaid hours studying a menu for a job they don’t even have. Are menu tests before an offer of employment normal?
