Are unions bad?

Had my orientation at Walmart today (not excited at all about it and it's just so I don't have a gap in my resume) and the guy giving the shtick about being hardworking and how he's done mostly every job in the store said unions are bad and they only want their union fees and don't actually listen to your problems. I almost laughed out loud cause it reminded me of the off-the-wall shit I read from stories on this sub. It's only paying $13/hr and he said this WM location is better than a union because they “have 24 hours to come up with a solution to the problem”. Which brings me to my question of, are unions bad?
