My engineering company is trying to get people like me (hired as engineers) to post Reels on our personal Instagram account about the company as a recruiting measure. It is an optional “activity”.
The “compensation” offered is a 250$ Amazon gift card for the most trendy post, once every quarter.
I told one of my coworker to tell them to fuck off and I am doing just that.
Any thoughts?
Here is the message I received:
Good afternoon xxxxx,
I hope you are doing fine. I am reaching out from the Communication/Marketing team because we would like to invite you to become an COMPANY_NAME Instagram collaborator by posting in your own account reels company related twice a month starting on January 2023.
Here are more details:
• 2 posts/month minimum
• Reels (video) only if possible.
• Add captions to the video if needed (the automatic ones from Instagram)
• Can be curated content from TikTok or YouTube
• No mention of other company
• Goal: Differentiate content from the one on LinkedIn. Increase company awareness and visibility. Look young, dynamic, “cool”, share the vibe and culture of the company and the employees in it.
• Target: Mostly potential employees (young engineers)
Note: Tag company, location, university, event, colleagues and friend when relevant
Hashtag: XXXXXXXXXX, engineering, engineeringstudent, engineer, XXXX,XXXX…or other
Gift card of 250$ every quarter for the best publication (most views and/or like)
Of course it is an optional activity. Would you be interested in participating? []
