Asking for advice

I work in CA as a subcontractor for a contracting agency for a large corporation. (Confusing I know) I am a CA resident and have been working 40 hours a week from 8-5 every Monday-Friday at an office in CA. I recently received a better offer and am leaving this messy situation. The agency I have worked for is based out of FL and told me I will not receive my final direct deposit until up to a month after my resignation even though I gave 2 weeks notice. To my understanding you are supposed to receive it quicker if you give 2 weeks under CA law. Is this worth contacting the labor board over and how would I do that? I heard penalties could be involved but am not sure if this would apply in this situation as I am considered a contractor. Any advice would be appreciated and…
