Is it alright to ask for time off, without going to the processes like PTO. Ive been at my job for about two and a half months now and the 40 hr grind is just exhausting. Dealing with all the BS of people and office politics and just the boring monotony of thinking of all the things I could be doing, while being stuck in this soulless job. Its hard since my parents are the 40hr week is how life is supposed to be lived type of people, but it's just my boss scheduled me for 7 days in a row and thats the one time, I just thought to myself I need some more time to recharge myself. She made it so im working 6 days a week, but coincidentally my new shift cycle starts on a Monday so its 7 days in a row.
I know its probably a bad idea, but I refuse to work anymore than 5 days a week for any job. Even if brings me an even worse standing in my job, I just need some extra time to not deal with all the BS and commutes. This is my first 40 hr grind job and I can't even understand how people stood this, it's so soulless. Ive been failing trying to find a remote job lately, but I haven't been giving up no matter how hard it is. Sorry this was so long and didn't make much sense, just needed to get it off my chest.
