Bank fees are just another poverty tax – Im so sick of being charged for nothing places while trying to survive

My job cut my shifts down due to a “lull” in business and I was pinched for a couple paycheques and my car payment was coming up so I transferred out of what little savings I have to the account where the payment withdraws only leaving me 30$ for the rest of the week – or so I thought and was doable. I transferred the wrong amount, I was under by $0.01 CAD – the bank charged me a 48$ fee for insufficient funds for the withdrawal and returned the money minus the 48$ (automatic charges done by a computer ffs). 4 hours later after crying on the phone to the second manager I spoke to they said they would return it this “once” because I have never had the charge before on my account and have always had adequate funds – go to manually pay the car payment -…

No food for me.

WHY THE HECK DO BANK FEES EXIST!? – we need a bank account to have a job, rent a home, get a vehicle – it seems like a mandatory part of life and poorer people use LESS of the banks services overall – and I know banks make money off of people with lots of money from investing so its a “courtesy” to serve people with negligible amounts to invest but ,banks get tax payer money all the time in bailouts and subsidies!!! so WTF. I am just so done, so much of the system is rigged. We are all just pumped with lottery mentality media showcasing the few lucky winners who signed a music contract or lucked out in a business that got bought by amazon and struck it rich. Poor taxes are everywhere and they are devious. They want us all to be smokers, alcoholics, gamblers who fall further and further into servitude through the predatory debts they offer for a temporary sense of relief from the insane complexity and costs of living.

Honestly I feel like we are in just the most boring version of the hunger games possible. I am so done.
