Shouting into the void because I'm exhausted with being angry.
I have 4+ years of experience in this setting, 2+ years experience in this position, as an 'exempt employee', for which WA state has a state minimum salary, 1.75 times minimum for employers with 1-50 employees, 2 times minimum for employers with 51 or more employees.
We were recently acquired in Q3 by another company with a presence in 15 states and my position was folded into the main company's payroll/employees. I brought up that my paystubs for January have me still below the bare minimum of the 1-50 employee threshold, let alone the fact we're a large company so theoretically I should have got the larger increase.
I got a response that it was being escalated to HR to look into 2 weeks ago. No updates other than 'there's been communication but no decisions yet'. At this point, I'm thinking they're trying to find a way to get around the 51+ employee definition since they're taking so long.
This thought was confirmed a few minutes ago when my supervisor was 'pleased to inform' me that I did get an increase with back pay through January, for the minimum for 1-50 employees. It was explained that because they don't have more than 50 corporate employees in Washington state they don't have to do the higher increase. I got a whopping $1,293.00 increase in my yearly salary.
They gave me the exact bare minimum. They didn't even round up, nor match inflation. No mention was made whether bonuses or increases are on the table yearly either. Tired of being angry.
