Be cautious of your owners kids/grandkids

I work at a place, let’s call it, where the owners kid is taking over as manager. It has been a struggle so far, but the most notable thing came to my attention today. My coworker has worked there for over 13 years, and has always had a five day schedule. Well, come to find out, they’re cutting his days down to three for the off season. And the new manager told him in a text. No conversation. Just a text. If an employee of over a decade can lose their scheduled days just like that, it’s clear this is no longer a company that values it’s employees. That was the final straw (along with paying me less than new hires, who do immensely less work and a crappier job than me). I’m officially applying for other jobs. This is so disheartening.
