Be grateful to have a job

Hey all. I recently took over as a lead of a department in a hospital. Upper management constantly keeps telling us that we should be grateful to have a job and to basically stop complaining. This managment is just draining all departments and so many people have left. The main question I have is how do I approach the be grateful to have a job stance management has.
