Being made to feel like I shouldn’t ask for overtime or time in lieu from a conference day

So I work for a huge governmental body in NSW Australia and have a 1 day conference tomorrow 2 hours by train from my house. This requires me to leave the hours 1 hour earlier than normal, as well as return home 2 hours later than normal work day (might even be more if trains are delayed, we will see), as well as pay for a train ticket. I’m also the only one that takes my full breaks and morning tea, as well as leaves on time after my rostered hours. What can I say – I don’t work for free, my time and my free time is super valuable to me and I like to stick to times. What can I do? I find this attitude super upsetting as it causes me a lot of anxiety!
