Just got out of an interview with a grocery retailer that begins with the letter A. Sounded okay other than the pay being lower than what was posted online (what a shocker) but I thought I could maybe haggle back up with my experience. Then at the interview the manager hits me with the “we actually aren't hiring”

Then why have me and like 5 other people come out for an interview??? They want to see if they're missing that STAR EMPLOYEE. Thank you for wasting my time and gas to drive out here for this.
