I just got laid off, without reason and within probation. There is a conference scheduled that was mandatory to attend that employees are expected to purchase airline tickets for that will be reimbursed in their next pay cheque.
Now that I’ve been terminated effective today with the conference coming up in a couple of weeks, will I still be entitled to the reimbursement? I tried refunding the ticket but to save money I had purchased a non-transferable, non-refundable ticket!
I asked the person who gave me the news if it would be reimbursed and they said they weren’t sure.
Any advice?
