Hey y'all,
Long time lurker, first time poster in this sub. I'm in need of some advice. I had a meting with my boss about two weeks ago about needing more work life balance, wanting to go remote, the likes. I expressed if I can't find something at my internally, I would intent to look elsewhere, I said my last day would be around Memorial day but I was still noodling if I wanted to go (it's a decent gig tbh, I'm not unhappy here, rather, content) He said “that's cool keep me posted”
He's been pretty cool about everything leading up to this, he's been approachable, understanding when life events came up, I actually really do like him as a boss. He called me into his office on Monday to let me know they found my replacement earlier than intended and asked if it was cool with Friday being my last day. I was a little shocked because I didn't actually put in an official two weeks, they just replaced me. In that meeting I mentioned unemployment since this was much earlier than I intended, well I received an email just now asking for my letter of resignation. I'm in the United States (lmao, where else could I be) but also like, thoughts? I feel like they want a letter of resignation so I can't get unemployment? Am I over thinking this? I've been here just under a year (like 11 months?)
Thoughts? Advice? Am I too in my head?
