Personally I find this a bit harsh but she explained her reasoning. She said an honest person wouldn’t even mention that because they wouldn’t be abusing anything in the first place and wouldn’t feel the need to prove that they can be clean and on the job.
After deliberating it does make sense however to me it makes interviewee sound very desperate. I’m just a regular employee & have no experience in hiring so I’m willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. My boss has hired many so I get the feeling she’s dealt with this type of response and considers it dishonest.
