Boss flexing

For the past 2 years we have had one of our teenage employees run and get lunch for about 4 other guys. The teenager typically makes right around $14 an hour. This usually takes this person about a 1/2 an hour To get our food. Apparently the general manager didn't like the fact that this person wasn't punching out. It was OK for for the last manager because he knew that the rest of us would stay working while this person went and got us food. Now the manager approached this person told them that they were no longer to be on the clock while getting food therefore this person would not be getting a lunch break or using their time for lunch to be running for us which isn't gonna happen. Now get this, understandably in the manager's position they want to save money for the company and having somebody running for others on the clock is not really a company problem.

BUT! This manager uses a company vehicle to drive back-and-forth to work this vehicle gets about 12 miles per gallon. The round trip to work and and back is approximately a 120 miles round trip for this person.

Can you imagine wasting that much company resources and then And then doing this to your main workforce with the flex of your management. And I should also mention that we adore the runner and management does not have enough for this person to do so they sit around for most of the day with no work prepared for them.
