Yesterday I discovered that my boss has my incoming and outgoing emails forwarded to him. This was never disclosed to me. I know employers have a right to all electronic communication with the company; however, last year I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and had to disclose private health info to HR on numerous occasions. Now I know my boss has seen everything I've sent and received. I asked my boss directly if he was doing the same with anyone else in my department (I oversee 4 others) and was told no, he does not.
Do I have any recourse?
