So my manager just had a meeting to add a “owner” to a project.
Essentially before, we used to have a direct line of communication.
BOSS-> 3 people
Those 3 were responsible for their part of the project.
Now, he has added a layer:
BOSS-> “owner”-> 3 people
Essentially, the “owner” is in charge of following up to ensure that the “3 people” do their task, which was his job. So he essentially passed his job to someone else. The “owner” is one of the 3 people.
When I questioned him, he said that this was a chance for the “owner” to show that they’re management material. Well yeah because they’re doing the job of management .
