My boss asked me to cover a shift for someone on the 4th of July saying how employees were getting an additional 8 hours of holiday pay for going in that day.
So, of course, I thought, “Sweet, it sucks that I'll miss most of my family cookout, but i really could use the money.” Today, my paycheck comes in, but wait, there must surely be a mistake….No holiday pay, WTF??? I checked with my coworkers, and they got all received theirs….
So I text my boss…. and you know what this man has the nerve to say? “You have to be with the company for 180 days to qualify for Holiday Pay.” 🤨 MotherF*cker are you serious!? 🤬
I told him that “You're the one who told me that by going in that day I'd get it” and he says “oh I didn't realize that you weren't with us long enough to qualify?”….. Bullsht buddy, you're the one who hired me 2 months ago! So he's either an asshle or stupid, and honestly knowing him, it really could go either way….
Unfortunately, there's nothing I can really say without risking my job, but any holidays that people are getting paid extra in my 180-day grace period, guess what? I'm calling out…. cause I'm not working for less than everyone else that day because corporate, or management, or whoever wants to save a buck and screw people over.
So, guess who's got 2 thumbs and definitely not working Labor Day? This guy
