Boss promised a certain wage and hasn’t delivered, advice ?

Started a new job nearly 2 months ago now, extremely shitty hours, basically midnight to afternoon. When I was in the interview, He said something along the lines of ‘so this is what we will start you on and after a few weeks if we like you’ll, we’ll look after you and give you this’. I can understand a lower starter ‘trial’ rate type thing so I took it. He wrote both of those figures down on a piece of paper that I never got, but I took the job purely for the promised figure, (it’s only £1 an hour more but.. over 50 hours.. that’s an extra £50 right.. thats more than a weeks food shop. It’s small but a huge QOL increase. Anyway, today I only just got emailed a kind of crappy contract of employment, and to my sadness it has that started rate locked into it…

The boss never actually shows his face around this place, and I have no idea who I should even bring this up to, because of my hours I’m alone for most of my shift. Someone else is only there to give or take my keys. There are a few people around in the morning but they’re super busy and not the type of staff who’s issue this is anyway.

Do i just text the boss ? I have his mobile number. Like i do like this job, But there is such a huggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeee employment crisis in this industry in my area and I could find another job tomorrow if I wanted, one that pays what he promised me.
