I am currently a student and have set clear scheduling hours with my boss and managers numerous times. I can only legally work a certain amount of hours a week (20 hours). I gave them a list of days and times that I can work (only morning shifts though because I have schooling in evenings and I would go days without sleeping if they tried to work me at nights on my off days). The times and hours I have them were perfect and ensured I got my hours and was able to support myself without and conflict of schedules.
Their response? They cut me down to less than 10 hours a week and are trying to work myself back to back night shift/day shift and are giving my hours someone who keeps coming to work high/drunk and has to be sent home early.
I confronted them about this and they told me either I work nights or my schedule stays the same. They not only admitted I am only available during days yet they are scheduling me for nights, but they also told me to pretty much go fuck myself when I told them I can’t even feed myself because every penny to my paychecks are going to rent since I am only getting 10 hours a week.
Bonus: we’re also understaffed and I’m still somehow being scummed my hours.
This is not worth just $16/hr man wtf.
