Boss scheduling mandatory last minute meetings on day off

I started this job very recently and I do enjoy the actual job so far but there’s been stuff that has been happening that has been so stressful to me and giving all this anxiety. I posted about this on here before but I have been getting text messages from my boss and a shift leader and it’s been so stressful to me, getting all these messages when I’m not working. Recently the boss texted the group chat (which I never wanted to be in in the first place) that he was recommending a certain date for a mandatory paid work meeting. I never respond to those group chat messages but he said if anyone can’t make it to let him know, otherwise he’s gonna schedule the meeting for that day.

I responded saying that it was my day off and I can’t make it. And I also have something going on that day now. Now today he messaged the group chat and said the meeting is tomorrow (the original date he suggested) and we all have to go except for one person apparently regardless of it being our day off or not.

I didn’t respond, but I’m not going. He never said that date was set in stone in the first place and I have something going on tomorrow (I didn’t say this but there’s a bunch of interviews being held for a part time position that pays significantly better than what I’m getting paid now, so that’s where I will be.) he can fire me or write me up for not showing up, I don’t care. I already told him I wouldn’t make it anyway and I was never informed that team meetings were a thing in the first place.

I just hope if I do get fired for not going to this mandatory meeting I can sign up for unemployment..

Has anyone gone through a similar situation?
