Last Thursday I was taken by ambulance to the ER because my back went out and I was completely immobile. Ended up needing to be admitted due to a herniated disc and the pain with it, got out on Friday and have been in and out every other day since due to pain. The entire time my boss was texting me about how bad her back hurts from her massage and how she got sunburnt.
I went into work today, and while going througg 230 emails she forwarded me an email from Friday morning, when I hadnt even gotten out of the hospital yet, telling me what to do with it and that i need to stay on top of it. My numbness then got worse, my husband took me back to the ER. When i let my boss know she was visibly mad that I was leaving. Later on, after my MRI, she texted me telling me not to bring any work home, and what I did wrong by not using a sharebox. (After requesting if I got admitted that i be allowed to work from the hospital). I texted back saying I wasn't being admitted, I don't need emergency surgery, but that I'll be taking an extra day off work.
Officially looking for a new job. 🙂
Tl;dr: Constantly late boss didn't cover even the minimum of my work while I was in the hospital with a herniated disc, complained about her back pain from a massage, got mad at me for leaving to go back to the ER, and then texted me scolding me before even asking how I was. I got a doctor's note for tomorrow and plan on ignoring my work phone and personal phone completely while looking for a new job.
