So I work for a private school. I am the director of outreach, meaning I interface with the community to get students referred to our school. I am responsible for 2 schools in my region. I interact directly with both heads of school but do not directly report to them. I've been dealing with one of the heads of school who is completely overstepping her bounds and basically trying to tell me what to do and how do to my job – not just surface level but nazi-level control freak. I brought this up with my boss and she said “yea she can be a tough cookie, you should buy her some gifts!” …. honestly what the fuck? First off that's bullshit and illegal and coercion. Second, I wouldn't gift her my grandma's used diaper. How do I deal with this? This organization is super corrupt and political. I could get fired for not being liked. I work in an at-will state.
