Boss told me to work longer hours because “it’s expected”

First time posting here. I'm a little lost so I need some advice. I've been working for the company a few months now with a schedule of 9-6. A few weeks ago my boss told me that the schedule that is in my contract is not “literal” and that it's expected of me to work more than 8 hours daily. He also told me that if I want to further my career I need to do that. I refused saying I can do that certain days but not everyday, now he changed his approach. Now, he doesn't want to count all the time that I work saying stuff like the time I spend googling something doesn't count or that I am not working 8 hours because I am not 100% efficient so I need to stay longer to make up for it. How would you respond in this situation? EDIT:…

EDIT: Thank you, I read all the comments and feel more at ease. I don't have time for a job that doesn't respect me.
