I just received an early morning text from my manager asking me to come into work while I am on vacation. My boss is asking me to come into work.I replied politely that I was on vacation.She stated that she is aware, but that the recent snowstorm has left them short-staffed, and that she is aware that I live close enough to be able to walk to work even in the snow. She responded, “an employee cannot work and receive pto on the same day, so you will not receive pto for today,” when I inquired about how working today while receiving PTO would work. I will simply say no. This is absurd. I once sent her a question via text without realizing that she was away on vacation, and she replied, “I AM ON VACATION.”Never get in touch with me while I'm on vacation.I'm tempted to say the same thing to her now: “PLEASE RESPECT MY TIME.”
