My job is intake. I screen and prepare and approve applicants. Then, they move on to their case manager. The case managers apparently have been complaining of girls not showing up to a medical screening appointment/ghosting. So, my boss decided she will “prolong” my commission until the girls show up to medical screening (whether they are approved or not I would still get paid.) my hourly rate is nothing, and this means commission can take MONTHS to come through. I would be screwed financially. So, I emailed her proposing to cut out commission all together, and to instead make me a salary employee with a fair wage. My job is extremely vital to the company’s well being, and it is extremely costly to retrain and replace me. She responded with how much base pay I am asking for. I asked her what she thought was reasonable. This was last night, I am waiting to hear back (she lives on the other side of the earth so it is very very early for her). I am baffled that she really is trying to pull this BS. She claims that we will keep in contact with the girls until the medical screening appointment. Basically, we are taking over a part of the case managers job/responsibility AND taking less pay for it. Absolutely not.
