Hey y’all, just curious of your thoughts on this. End of year reviews came around, and I did well. My boss wants me to become a leader in the store. That’s wonderful. However, she wants me to read a particular book to improve leadership skills. I am swamped at work (I work in a cell phone store, you all know how busy they get), and would have to take time out of my time off to read it. I am not interested in this book and I am a full time worker and a full time student. What are your thoughts on this? I want to tell her no, but I can’t figure out a cordial way to say, sorry, I won’t do that outside of work. She’s very much the work is family type, they are all wonderful people, but I will not be doing that on my own time. Thoughts and suggestions for how to reply would be much appreciated 🙂
